Notes from Dakota Robertson (growing an audience on linkedin)

Turn on creator mode (Linkedin took it out, but they say we still have the same tools)

Optimize your profile

  • Picture (High clear picture (chest up))
  • Bio (What are you doing?)
  • Banner (Show your competence)
  • About (Experience? Credibility? If not, what are you working on? and what are your goals?)
  • Featured ((Links (promote newsletter, website, medias))

Generate content ideas

    • Content should be relevant, and useful.
    • Anything they can apply to their life (just has to be useful for the audience)
    • You can get ideas from chat gpt (“My targeted audience is ___, what are the most common pain points?”)

Create linkedin carousels (it is a thumbnail kinda)

      • go to google, and search up linkedin carousel templates.
      • convert your png to pdf

Transformational story. (Realizations, mindset changes, or transformations (poor to rich, fat to skinny). Stories that are emotional, and can touch others.)

        1. The hook
        2. The inciting incident
        3. The journey
        4. The support
        5. The outcome

Get traffic (eyeballs/followers) to your profile (that involves commenting)

        1. comment on others peoples post (25x or more)
        2. Engagement groups (5-10 other creators)
        3. Pay for comments in big accounts

        Follow best practices

          • Comment 25x or more a day
          • post 3-7 times a week
          • post in the mornings, and more on weekdays… (it is more browsed on weekdays, cause everyone uses linkedin during work. No one uses linkedin in the weekends)
          • Endorsement
